Volmarstein - the foundation

Since 1904, the Evangelical Foundation Volmarstein, founded by Pastor Arndt, has been active in Wetter (Ruhr) in the care of the physically disabled and sick and has developed over the years into a complex facility for diakonia disabled, sick, and also senior care. In total, more than 3000 children, teenagers, adults, and seniors are cared for every year in all Volmarstein facilities, as well as several thousand patients. The central area of the foundation is located in a scenically idyllic situation on the edge of the Ruhr area between Dortmund, Bochum, and Hagen. Around 4400 employees ensure that the people we care for always know they are in good hands.

This business unit contains our multiple award-winning clinics for primary and standard care and orthopedics, as well as our medical care centers and therapy practices with focuses on speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy unite.

Senior assistance, child and youth welfare, specialized care as well as disabled care are a major part of this business sector, as is the field of education, qualification, and work with our vocational training center and the WfbM.

With Volmarstein Medical, we offer production and services in the areas of orthopedic technology, shoe technology, rehabilitation technology and electrical engineering, as well as in professional sterile goods preparation. But also service services such as building cleaning, the central laundry and the central kitchen of the Volmarstein Service belong here.
